You could always wait to see if later down the line 3->4 (I’m admittedly just assuming they’re eventually making 4? I didn’t look into the new DLC stuff yet) doesn’t care about stores like this. Logging into a fresh account works, I just cant log into the one I actually need to. So honestly, mate, I have no idea how it works just that for a few small selection, it is working. You didn’t have to link your Epic account to your IO account or anything like that, right? I loaded up Hitman 3 as normal, got no notice, then I quit the game (servers were down so there wasn’t much point I thought) and I came back into it, I had all my progress back. But it just feels like such an odd way to do it that I have to wonder if there’s some bizarre technical mess involved. Rather, yes, obviously it could just be Epic trying to lock in users. I can only wonder if it’s something like a difference in how the H3 account/save data is handled between versions, and there’s just not a big enough audience for Epic -> Steam to merit making/supporting the tool…?
